Position Description:
The Associate Director for ESG/CSO will support our rapidly evolving ESG and Corporate Strategy organizations. The AD will gain an in-depth understanding of our ESG strategy and support the organization in achieving its goals by providing financial/business analyses for our portfolio of ESG initiatives. The AD will also provide business support, planning and reporting for our Corporate Strategy Organization, including key areas such as Business Development, Global Health Innovation and our Health Services & Solutions teams.
ESG - Responsible for Finance advisement and support to achieve our company's ESG commitments
Strategic reporting and analysis for Chief Patient Officer and FP&A leadership for core ESG teams (Environmental Sustainability and Social Business Innovation)
Financial/business analyses for strategic reviews, helping to ensure our company remains on track to meet its public commitments
Works enterprise-wide to ensure operating expense forecasts and long term capital plans reflect the commitments necessary to achieve our ESG objectives
Provide financial analyses for and support execution and monitoring of new ESG initiatives (e.g., VPPA portfolio, carbon offset purchasing, forestation projects)
Support the prioritization of key projects to drive portfolio optimization and ensure ESG and business alignment.
Ensures new projects are strategically aligned, appropriately risk managed, have appropriate due diligence, with comprehensive Finance review/concurrence
Establish robust process and controls for key financial inputs and ESG performance metrics for key ESG reports and guide the business in quickly remediating any audit findings; harmonize across reporting requirements where possible to drive operational efficiency
Work enterprise-wide to identify, forecast and track spending for portfolio of projects to support ESG financing commitments; including review/approval of projects by the Sustainability Financing Committee and leading the preparation of ESG bond reporting
Collaborate closely with Controllers team to support evolving ESG external reporting and disclosure requirements
Ensure appropriate Finance oversight of impact investments, ensuring a diversified, strategically-aligned portfolio and supporting performance reviews/benchmarking
Key leader of the Sustainability Finance team, ensuring appropriate Finance resourcing, coordination and prioritization for the portfolio of ESG projects
Proactively monitor the external environment for emerging risks and opportunities
Corporate Strategy (ex-IT) - Responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis in support of Corporate Strategy team
Serve as Finance business partner to Chief Strategy Officer, SVP Business Development, VP Global Health Innovation, and VP Health Services & Solutions
Development, consolidation, and analysis of annual Budget, Forecast, and Long Range Operating Plan
Provide oversight and analysis of monthly closing process, and integrated monthly actuals & headcount reporting
Collaborate seamlessly with strategy/business development teams in analysis and presentation of the organization's actual results and forecasts
Distill and clearly articulate insights and risks/opportunities in achieving financial performance objectives
Develop and deliver key presentation materials for periodic readouts to key stakeholders
Conduct ad hoc project/analysis to continuously improve the visibility and accuracy of financial planning
Partner with business to ensure effective control environment
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
Undergraduate degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business)
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Finance/Accounting
Excellent analytical skills, and a demonstrated understanding of financial analysis techniques
Highly proficient in the use of information technology, including query, reporting and analysis software
A team-focused and highly collaborative approach to problem solving
Excellent oral/written communication skills; ability to develop and deliver effective communication to senior management
Ability to work independently and efficiently on simultaneous assignments
Preferred Experience and Skills:
MBA or CPA desirable
Proficiency in BPC BRIDGES, Headcount Salary Planner, COMET SAP
Advanced Excel (e.g. pivots, functions); PowerPoint proficiency
