Job Description

Our Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing plants with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset striving for continuous improvement. We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
Our animal vaccine facility in Millsboro, Delaware is experiencing dynamic growth in order to support the global poultry production supply chain. The site has been selected by our Company's Animal Health (AH) division to be the Center of Excellence for Poultry and Freeze Dried Vaccines and therefore, we are looking for high energy, novel thinking individuals to promote the site’s long term journey.
At all times, following Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to all safety and company policies, perform duties assigned by department supervision.
This position is in the Bioprocessing Department.
These duties may include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning work area including ceiling, floors, walls, tables, etc.
Prepare, clean and sterilize glassware and equipment for use
Equipment setup and operation
Perform Environmental Monitoring
Perform aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest antigen
Concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation
Demonstrates, at all times, safe work habits and maintains a safe work environment. Comprehends and complies with all safety and company policies and procedures.
Report all unusual, non-routine occurrences when performing tasks
May be accountable for accumulation, labeling and management of hazardous wastes, as appropriate to their area, providing they are properly trained prior to assignment.
Assist in ordering paperwork and entering technical data into system
Attend training classes, workshops, meetings, etc., to improve job skills and product-related procedures
Assist in monitoring and requisitioning laboratory supplies
Education Minimum Requirement:
High School diploma/GED with minimum of 1 year production or laboratory related experience - OR - Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in a biological field
Required Experience and Skills:
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to read, write and comprehend information and to effectively convey information to colleagues at various levels
Experience in Aseptic clean room behaviors preferred
Ability to gown in and out of the clean room as needed
Able to work flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This includes overtime, holidays and weekends. Days and hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
