We are recruiting a Senior Scientist to join the Bioprocess R&D department, helping to advance our Company’s biologics pipeline portfolio. The individual will play a critical role in the early development of biologics pipeline to ensure robust candidate development and efficient transition to clinical development team. The individual will support milestone deliveries for Discovery programs during molecule design, screening, and developability assessment stages, using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art platform technologies and fit-for-use methodology. The candidate should demonstrate and stay up to date on the knowledge of principles and theories related to cell culture fermentation and purification technologies. Based in South San Francisco, CA, the Senior Scientist will operate in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with Discovery, Analytical, process, and pharmaceutical science on site and at our Company's other locations. Travel of up to 10% may be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as a CMC subject matter expert in Discovery program core teams.
Interface with Discovery, Analytics, and other bioprocess teams in the planning, execution, and interpretation of expression strategies.
Execute and coordinate the expression system design to support all biologics modalities.
Implement and optimize current HT and automation systems in bioreactor production and protein purification.
Develop and implement state-of-art reagent tracking system and database.
Identify and evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
Responsible for memos, technical reports and relevant sessions of IND filing.
Educational Minimum Requirements:
BS with 7+ years experience, MS with 4+ years experience, or PhD with 0+ years relevant experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
Biologics industry or related experience in bioprocess development.
Experienced in automation and high throughput technologies for cell culture and purification.
Creative. Critical thinking. Strong troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Good record of scientific achievement (publications, patents, etc.)
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
