The Quality Control Technician position is available at our Animal Health facility in Elkhorn, Nebraska, located on the West end of Omaha. The Elkhorn facility is expanding operations to manufacture animal vaccines and biologics. This position will work, under minimal supervision, in the Quality Control Virology Testing Team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, analyze and document in vitro assays to evaluate potency of biological products in accordance with Outlines of Production and Section 9 of the Code of Federal Regulations (9CFR) | Testing will include virus potency, proof of inactivation, identification and Process Change Report (PCR) testing of final batch, experimental samples and in-process lots

  • Assure testing compliance according to site, corporate and USDA regulations   

  • Investigate and report testing issues

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment using approved Standard Operating Procedures

  • Assist in self-audits and participate in Corporate and USDA audits as directed

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • BS degree in a technical scientific discipline strongly preferred

Experience and Skills

Required

  • Minimum one year in a laboratory setting

  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task projects

  • Ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment

  • Strong computer skills with excellent communication and writing skills

Preferred

  • Support and participate in the development of study protocols, replacement of current reagents and improvement of current methodologies

  • Familiarity with Section 9 of the Code of Federal Regulations
